UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Applications are now open for all Penn State campuses, colleges, programs, student organizations and alumni groups interested in hosting a fundraising campaign during the University’s ninth GivingTuesday celebration.

The event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, continuing what has become a powerful University fundraising effort and a chance to highlight the ambitions and achievements of faculty, staff, students and alumni across Penn State and beyond. GivingTuesday 2022 broke institutional records for the eighth consecutive year, generating more than 13,100 gifts and raising over $1.25 million for more than 150 University programs and initiatives.

Any group, program or organization with a University-affiliated fund is invited to participate. Faculty, staff, students and members of alumni interest groups interested in hosting a fundraising campaign this year can apply online before the application closes on Sept. 29, and all approved campaigns will be featured on the University’s GivingTuesday website. Participating campaigns will have access to training sessions and marketing resources provided by the Office of University Development.

GivingTuesday at Penn State is an opportunity to not only encourage philanthropy but amplify the important role that alumni and friends play in the University community. More information about how to make a gift or become a campaign champion will be shared later this fall. Questions about the day or the application process should be directed to givingtuesday@psu.edu.

Gifts made on GivingTuesday advance the University’s historic land-grant mission to serve and lead. Through philanthropy, alumni and friends are helping students to join the Penn State family and prepare for lifelong success; driving research, outreach and economic development that grow our shared strength and readiness for the future; and increasing the University’s impact for families, patients and communities across the commonwealth and around the world.
